The handler path

From joining to your first trial.

K9 Elements is the journey, not the destination. Here's the path — the membership, the profile, the training, and the qualifying steps before you register.

The path

Six steps from sign-up to start line.

01

Join

Annual handler membership — $100/yr, auto-renews. The federation floor for every other step.

02

Build your dog profile

TODO(jaden): what counts as a complete profile — registry info, vaccinations, prior titles, photo.

03

Train

TODO(jaden): how the four guided paths fit in, and whether outside-K9E training counts toward eligibility.

04

Qualify

TODO(jaden): title progression rules — what scores at what class get you into which trial. Reference the rulebook chapter.

05

Register

TODO(jaden): registration windows (member-only, then public), payment, withdrawal policy.

06

Trial day

TODO(jaden): check-in, briefing, judging order, scoresheet release, appeal window reminder.

Member in good standing

What "good standing" actually means.

  • Current membership at the time of registration and at the time of the trial.
  • Complete dog profile, including required registry and vaccination fields.
  • Title progression appropriate to the class being entered.
  • Minimum age and any event-specific prerequisites met.
  • No active sanctions or open grievances with K9 Elements.

Full rulebook reference: TODO.
